  • Discover Specialty Mexican Cacao Tasting with Fausto Reyes — 2026-09-29 at 17:00
You already know Specialty Coffee: now it’s the moment for Specialty Cacao! Our cacao supplier, Apapacho is bringing Fausto Reyes, chocolate maker and leader of the Slow Food Cacao Coalition from Mexico City, to New Jozi for an hour of tasting Mexican cacao the way you'd taste a new origin coffee. We'll also prepare drinks together, both hot and cold, all sourced direct-trade from small producers. Fausto will talk through where the cacao comes from and how it is made traditionally in Mexico. No cacao knowledge required: if you already know how to taste coffee, you'll pick this up fast. Max. 25 people
  • An Evening in Mexico: Cacao, Tacos & Son Jarocho — 2026-10-02 at 17:30
Apapacho takes over New Jozi for an evening built around cacao, food and music. Fausto Reyes, cacao expert in residency from Diaspora Chocolatería (CDMX) will be behind the cacao pop-up preparing traditional Mexican drinks most people here have never even heard of. Alongside that, there will be tacos by Taquería José y Maria, and live Son Jarocho (folkloric Mexican music) by Tres Ríos to accompany the night. Your ticket gets you in for the concert plus one specialty cacao drink of your choice and a portion of tacos. Early bird €30 / Final price €35. Kids under 10 years old enter for free. An immersive evening to taste a bit of Mexican culture in the middle of Rotterdam.

Rotterdam Coffee Tasters Club

Every other Sunday · 14:00

A small group meeting at New Jozi to cup, taste blind, and talk about what we're drinking. Anyone welcome. Bring a coffee, leave with notes.

  • Cup four coffees blind, score them, argue politely.
  • Rotate roasters — your shop wins, our shelf wins.
  • Open to home brewers, pros, and people who just like coffee.
